Wellesley to Provincetown Monument

This route is sold out for PMC 2024.

The Sturbridge to Provincetown Monument route is a two-day route in the Pan-Mass Challenge. Regardless of which route you ride, 100 percent of every-rider raised dollar goes to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Fundraising Minimum

$6,000

The fundraising commitment requires you to personally guarantee the fundraising minimum whether or not you actually participate in the PMC ride. The fundraising deadline is October 1, 2024.

Registration Fee

$350 includes lodging at MMA
$300 without lodging

The registration fee is not refundable and does not apply towards your fundraising minimum

Before the Ride: Friday, August 2

Babson College – 231 Forest Street, Wellesley, MA 02457

Check-In

Check in at Babson College  between 2 and 7 PM to receive your jersey, socks, and rider credentials, including your wristband, bike tag, name tags, and luggage tags. All rider are required to wear their wristband PMC weekend.

Riders must show photo ID at check-in.

Food & Drinks

The Friday afternoon dinner will be held at Babson College during rider check-in (2 to 7 PM).

Merchandise

New PMC merchandise will be available for purchase in Wellesley.

Lodging

Optional: Lodging is available at the Babson Executive Conference Center in Wellesley Friday night at an additional cost and is not included in the registration fee.

Day One: Saturday, August 3

Babson College (Wellesley) to Mass Maritime Academy (Bourne)

 

Start

Riders will start from Babson on Saturday at 6 AM.

Water Stops

There are 4 water stops along the Wellesley to Bourne route:

Wrentham (mile 20)
Dighton-Rehoboth (mile 44)  – lunch stop
Lakeville (mile 57)
Wareham (mile 74)

Finish

All Saturday riders will finish at Mass Maritime Academy (101 Academy Drive, Bourne). The Bourne finish includes food, drinks, showers, live music, and more. Because of limited space, MMA is open to riders only; no guests.

Lodging

Based on availability, riders may select lodging at MMA during registration. Riders may choose to stay on campus in a room, in a shared space, or in their own tent; the registration fee is $350 for riders who choose to stay on campus.

Riders may choose their own accommodations and choose to stay off campus; the registration fee for these riders is $300.

Luggage

The PMC will transport one bag (not to exceed 20 pounds) per rider from Wellesley to MMA. 

Day Two: Sunday, August 4

Mass Maritime Academy (Bourne) to Provincetown Monument Finish

Start

Riders may start from Mass Maritime Academy on Sunday anytime between 5 and 6 AM. There is no mass start; riders should roll out as they are ready. Riders are also encouraged to start from their local hotel or home and just merge into the route.

Note that riding across the Bourne Bridge will only be possible between 5 and 6:15 AM; outside those times, riders must walk their bikes using the sidewalk.

There are 3 water stops along the Bourne to Provincetown route:

Barnstable (mile 25)
Brewster (mile 40)
Wellfleet (mile 58)

Finish

Riders will finish at the Provincetown Monument Finish (28 Winslow Street, Provincetown), which is one of two finish lines in Provincetown. The finish includes food, drinks, showers, music, and more.

Guests are allowed at this finish; guest meal tickets will be available for purchase during rider registration.

Luggage

The PMC will transport one bag (not to exceed 20 pounds) per rider from MMA to Provincetown.

Transportation

Riders may purchase a bus ticket from Provincetown to Wellesley or a ferry ticket from Provincetown to Boston. Riders may also choose to purchase a bus ticket from Boston to Wellesley; buses depart after ferries arrive in Boston. Riders can select one of these options during registration for an additional cost, based on availability.
