Wellesley to Provincetown Monument

The Sturbridge to Provincetown Monument route is a two-day route in the Pan-Mass Challenge. Regardless of which route you ride, 100 percent of every-rider raised dollar goes to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Fundraising Minimum


The fundraising commitment requires you to personally guarantee the fundraising minimum whether or not you actually participate in the PMC ride. The fundraising deadline is October 1, 2022.

Pre-Ride Information

ID & Proof of Vaccination

Bring your photo ID and proof of vaccination to check-in to receive your jersey and credentials. You cannot register and ride without identification and proof of vaccination.

*The PMC is following the CDC's vaccination definition: You are “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 two weeks after you received either A) two (2) doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, given 4-8 weeks apart, or B) one (1) dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

PMC 2022 Handbook

Please thoroughly review the PMC Handbook ahead of PMC weekend.

Packing List

Review the suggested packing list in the PMC Handbook and make sure your luggage does not exceed 25 pounds.

Bike Preparation

Get your bike tuned up before PMC weekend and be sure to carry your own inner tubes and CO2 cartridges or pump.

Water Stop Services

Each water stop will offer food and beverages, emergency mechanical support, medical support, and lavatories. Please note the water stop operating hours as listed in the handbook.

Roadside Assistance

Riders needing mechanical or medical assistance during their ride can request help one of two ways: in the TraQCentral app or by calling the PMC's emergency support number, 1-800-WE-CYCLE.

Guest Policy

Friends and family are encouraged to cheer from the roadside, but only registered riders and volunteers are allowed at PMC sites this year, including at starts, water stops, and finishes.

Before the Ride: Friday, August 5

Babson College – 231 Forest Street, Wellesley, MA 02457


Registration is in the Trim Lot from 2 to 8 PM Friday and 5:15 to 6:30 AM Saturday to receive your rider credentials, including your wristband, bike tag, name tags, and luggage tags. All rider are required to wear their wristband PMC weekend.

Riders can drop off their bike and luggage there once they check in and receive their credentials.


Food & Drinks

Food and refreshments will be available in the Trim Lot from 2 to 8 PM.

Car Parking

Enter the campus using the main Babson entrance and then follow the direction of police, Babson Public Safety, PMC volunteers and signage. Cars can be parked on the Babson campus Friday through Sunday but must be moved by Sunday evening; cars parked overnight Sunday will be towed.

Bike Parking

Secure, overnight bike parking is available Friday night.

Bike Mechanics

Emergency bike service is available from 3 to 8 PM Friday.

Opening Ceremonies

The 2022 PMC Opening Ceremonies will be broadcast live from Sturbridge in the Trim Lot tent.


Optional: Lodging is available at the Babson Executive Conference Center in Wellesley Friday night at an additional cost and is not included in the registration fee.

Saturday Start – August 6

Babson College – 231 Forest Street, Wellesley, MA 02457


The ride officially starts at 6:45 AM (new time for 2022). Opening ceremonies are at 6:30 AM; riders should line up starting at 6 AM. Riders are also welcome to start from their local hotel or home and just merge into the route.

Rider Registration

Registration is in the Trim Lot from 5:15 to 6:30 AM for any riders who did not check in Friday.


Breakfast is available in the Trim Lot from 5:15 to 6:30 AM.

Bike Mechanics

Emergency bike service is available from 5:15 to 6:15 AM Saturday.

Parking & Rider Drop-Off

Drop-Off: Vehicles dropping off riders should use the Babson West Gate on Wellesley Avenue between 4:45 and 6:15 AM.

Parking: Vehicles entering the campus to park should use the Babson or Olin main entrance between 4:45 and 6:15 AM.


Load your luggage on the truck in the Trim Lot marked with your MMA lodging between 5:15 and 6:30 AM, if you did not drop off your luggage Friday night.

There are 4 water stops along the Wellesley to Bourne route:

Wrentham (mile 20)
Dighton-Rehoboth (mile 44)  – lunch stop
Lakeville (mile 57)
Wareham (mile 74)

E-Bike Charging

E-bike charging is available at the Dighton-Rehoboth water stop and at Mass Maritime Academy. Riders are responsible for bringing their own power cord/adapter.

Saturday Finish – August 6

Food & Beverage

Food and drinks (including alcoholic beverages for those 21+) are available on Parade Field at MMA from 11 AM to 6:30 PM. There will be live music from 1:30 to 7 PM.


All luggage from Wellesley and Sturbridge will be delivered to MMA, unless a rider has requested a luggage tag for the Hampton Inn in Buzzards Bay. Luggage can be found in your assigned lodging space or, for those staying in the gym, for one-day riders, and for those staying off-site, can be found near the finish line; please refer to the map in the handbook.


Riders staying on campus should bring a pillow and sleeping bag and/or sheets in their luggage. Your lodging assignment is listed on your wristband (and can be found in your PMC Dashboard).


Riders staying off campus who need transportation from MMA should note that no cars are allowed on the MMA campus or Academy Drive. Shuttles run between MMA and satellite parking lots; please see details in the handbook to arrange transportation.

Sunday Start – August 7

Mass Maritime Academy (Bourne) – 101 Academy Drive, Bourne, MA 02532


The rolling start from the MMA campus is from 5 to 6 AM.

The Bourne Bridge is only open to bikes from 5 to 6:15 AM; outside those times, riders must walk their bikes using the sidewalk.

Riders staying off campus can also start from their Saturday off-site lodging location or the Sunday off-site start at Kendall Rae Lot (12 Kendall Rae Place, Buzzards Bay).


There are three places you can drop off your luggage:

The truck marked for the Provincetown Monument Finish near the food tent at MMA from 4:15 to 6 AM

The Kendall Rae Lot (12 Kendall Rae Place, Buzzards Bay) from 4:15 to 6 AM

The Barnstable water stop (3195 Main Street, Barnstable) from 5 to 6:15 AM


Breakfast is available from 4:15 to 6 AM in the food tent at MMA.

Sunday Finish – August 7

Provincetown Monument – 28 Winslow Street, Provincetown, MA 02657

Barbecue, Beverages & Music

Food and drinks are available on Motta Field from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Showers & Luggage

Shower trucks are located on Winslow Street and luggage can be picked up at the top of Winslow Street. Please refer to the map in the handbook for further details.


No guests are permitted at the Monument Finish this year; only registered riders and volunteers are allowed at PMC sites this year, including at starts, water stops, and finishes.

Return Transportation – Ferries

All riders taking a ferry to Boston should walk to MacMillan Wharf (1/3 mile from the Monument Finish).

Riders on the fast ferries should bring their bags and bikes with them.

Riders on the 3 PM traditional ferry should load bags and bikes on the truck at the finish by 1:45 PM; riders taking a bus after arriving in Boston should follow the directions of volunteers in Provincetown about where to place their bike.

Return Transportation – Buses

Riders taking a bus to Sturbridge, Bourne or Wellesley should bring their bag with them and load their bike on a truck at the Monument Finish.

Return Transportation – Own Arrangements

Riders being picked up in Provincetown should meet their ride at the Jerome Smith parking lot. Cars should in the cell phone lot (56 Howland Street or 94 Harry Kemp Way) until their rider is ready to be picked up.
