Heavy Hitters are riders and virtual riders who exceed their fundraising goals and reach the Heavy Hitter level which is determined each year.
2020 PMC Heavy Hitter Level: $9,000
Heavy Hitters represent more than half of the PMC’s annual gift to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and are recognized for their fundraising efforts, including:
Priority Registration. Heavy Hitters are the first riders who are able to sign up for the PMC each year. The PMC will guarantee the route, Saturday night lodging and return transportation of your choice. (*Fast ferry reservations cannot be guaranteed.)
Recognition during PMC weekend & in the PMC Yearbook. Heavy Hitters will be recognized for their fundraising efforts in the annual PMC Yearbook and on their PMC weekend registration materials.
PMC Heavy Hitter Evening. Heavy Hitters are invited to this special event held to celebrate their fundraising contributions and the progress being made at Dana-Farber.
The Heavy Hitter Top 10% fundraising level – a further fundraising achievement to strive for – is $13,700 for 2020.
Heavy Hitter Teams
In addition to rider’s achieving Heavy Hitter status, PMC teams can also attain Heavy Hitter status. A PMC team will be considered a Heavy Hitter team when the following criteria are met:
Heavy Hitter teams must raise the Heavy Hitter minimum ($9,000 average per rider) as a group. Everyone on the team's fundraising will count towards the total, but will only be divided by the number of riders (excluding Babson Sunday One-Day, Virtual Riders, and PMC Winter Cycle riders). For example, a 10-member team, of which 3 are Babson Sunday One-Day Riders, raises $65,000. The calculation would be $65,000 ÷ 7 = $9,286.
Heavy Hitter teams must have at least five members (including registered riders and virtuals) and raise at least 5 times the Heavy Hitter level of $9,000 = $45,000.
Each Heavy Hitter team member must reach his or her own fundraising minimum by the fundraising deadline
