Heavy Hitters
PMC Heavy Hitters – riders and virtual riders – are the PMC's top fundraisers. They exceed their fundraising commitment to reach the annually determined Heavy Hitter level.

Fundraising by PMC Heavy Hitters represents over half of the PMC’s annual gift to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. They are recognized for their fundraising through:
Early Registration
Registration for the PMC opens to Heavy Hitters during an exclusive registration period. The PMC guarantees the chosen route and return transportation during this time. (*Fast ferry reservations cannot be guaranteed.)
Recognition During PMC Weekend & in the PMC Yearbook
Heavy Hitters are recognized for their fundraising efforts in the annual PMC Yearbook and on their PMC weekend registration materials (including name badge and bike tag).
PMC Heavy Hitter Evening
Heavy Hitters are invited to a special event held to honor their fundraising contributions and celebrate the progress being made at Dana-Farber.
2025 Heavy Hitter Level
2025 Heavy Hitter Top 10% Level
Riders who raise a total of $11,000 in any single event (PMC, PMC Winter Cycle, and PMC Unpaved) will be recognized as PMC Heavy Hitters.

2025 PMC Heavy Hitter Gift
The 2025 PMC Heavy Hitter gift is a PMC Heavy Hitter vest provided by New Balance. This navy puffer vest is a great addition to proudly wear to all your PMC events and beyond! The quilted polyfil vest with zip-closure pockets is the most perfectly versatile style. The vests are available in a men's (sizes XS-4XL) and women's (sizes XS-2XL) fit.
All PMC riders who raise $11,000 or more in any one event will receive this gift in November 2025. The 2025 Heavy Hitter level is $11,000 and the Top 10% level is $17,000.
New Balance is the PMC's Sturbridge hub site sponsor.

Heavy Hitter Teams
In addition to individual riders achieving Heavy Hitter status, PMC teams can also attain Heavy Hitter status. A 2025 PMC team will be recognized as a Heavy Hitter team when all the following criteria are met:
- A Heavy Hitter or Heavy Hitter Top 10% team has at least five members in total (riding any event route, Reimagined and virtual).
- A Heavy Hitter and Heavy Hitter Top 10% team must raise the Heavy Hitter minimum ($11,000 and $17,000 average per rider respectively) as a group.
- Each team member's fundraising across all PMC events will count towards the team's fundraising total.
- The team’s total fundraising will be divided by the number of “qualified” riders (excluding virtual, Reimagined, Sunday 25/50, Winter Cycle* and Unpaved* routes).
- Examples:
- A 10-member team, of which 2 are Wellesley 25/50 riders and 1 is a Reimagined Rider, raises $77,000. The calculation would be $70,000 ÷ 7 = $11,000. This team is a Heavy Hitter team.
- A 7-member team, of which 3 are Wellesley 25/50, Virtual or Reimagined Riders, raises $55,000. This team has 4 “qualified” riders, but the divisor has to be at least 5. The calculation would be $55,000 / 5 = $11,000. This is a Heavy Hitter team.
- A 10-member PMC team, of which one member also rides PMC Unpaved and one member only riders PMC Unpaved, raised $99,000. The calculation would be $99,000 ÷ 9 = $11,000. This team is a Heavy Hitter team.
- If a team is made up of only PMC Winter Cycle or PMC Unpaved riders, it can qualify as a Heavy Hitter team if the average is over $11,000. In these cases, the divisor will always be five; a team of only Winter Cycle or Unpaved riders that raises $55,000 or more will be recognized as a Heavy Hitter team in the PMC Yearbook.
- Each Heavy Hitter team member must reach his or her own fundraising minimum by the fundraising deadline.
* A PMC Winter Cycle or PMC Unpaved team name must match that of the PMC team for the fundraising dollars in those “spoke” events to be counted in the team total. PMC Kids Rides are not included in the Heavy Hitter team calculations.
Note: All PMC Yearbook lists are compiled on November 1.
