What You Need to Know About Riding PMC 2024

Now that we're in the new year, it's time to get ready for PMC 2024! The PMC has raised $972 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since 1980, positioning the PMC to cross a monumental $1 billion in cumulative fundraising for Dana-Farber in 2024.

Register early and be "One in a Billion" in this historic year!

About PMC 2024

PMC 2024 Dates

  • August 3 & 4
  • The PMC is always the first full weekend in August.

Registration Dates

  • January 9: Heavy Hitter registration (those who raised $10,000+ in 2023)
  • January 11: Alumni registration
  • January 17: General registration
  • All riders can register at secure.pmc.org/ride.

Fundraising Minimums

  • Fundraising minimums are staying the same as 2023

Routes

  • There are 16 routes – ranging from 25 to 211 miles – with different levels of cycling ability, fundraising capacity and logistics. Ride Saturday from Wellesley or Sturbridge to Bourne, Sunday from Bourne to Provincetown or 25, 50, or 100 miles starting in Wellesley, or ride a combination on both days!

Lodging

  • Riders on two-day routes to Provincetown can select Mass Maritime Academy (MMA) lodging for Saturday, August 3 (dependent on availability); MMA lodging is included in the rider registration fee.
  • The ship may be available as a Mass Maritime Academy lodging option, but the PMC will not definitively know the ship's availability until the spring. Dorms, ship, shared space, and tents will all be lodging options, however the ship will be listed as two conditional options:
    • Ship - Dorm If Ship Is Unavailable 
    • Ship Only - Staying Off Campus If Ship Is Unavailable
  • Riders starting from Sturbridge can request a Sturbridge area hotel for Friday, August 2; Sturbridge hotel rooms are not included in the rider registration fee.

Transportation

  • Bus transportation will be available, with buses delivering riders from Boston or Wellesley to Sturbridge on Friday, back to their starts on Saturday, or back to their starts on Sunday. Please note that the bus from Provincetown to Bourne will only be available from the Provincetown Inn Finish. The buses from Provincetown to Wellesley and to Sturbridge are available from both the Provincetown Inn and Provincetown Monument Finishes.
  • Ferries from Provincetown to Boston will also be available, including the largest ferry at 3 PM on Sunday.

Teams

  • During registration, 2023 alumni who rode on a team will be able to opt in to stay on their same team as last year.
  • Alumni riders who were not on a team in 2023, alumni riders who were on a team in years prior to 2023, and new riders will not be able to join a team automatically during registration. Once registered, these riders can be added to a team by that team's captain. A rider wanting to join a team should contact the team captain.

Registration Deadline

  • July 1, 2024
  • While registration is open until July, routes, lodging and transportation options can sell out as early as January, so do not wait to register!
