The Pan-Mass Challenge, the world’s single most successful athletic fundraiser, is pleased to announce Incyte, a global biopharmaceutical company, as the official Walpole water stop sponsor.
“Incyte has a long-standing commitment to the relentless pursuit of science that can improve the lives of patients and make a difference in healthcare,” said Barry Flannelly, Executive Vice President and General Manager, North America, at Incyte. “We’re looking forward to joining forces with the PMC and its goal of fundraising to further support the community and improve the lives of patients.”
The PMC is Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s single largest contributor, accounting for 62 percent of its Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Since 1980, the PMC has raised $972 million in support of life-saving cancer research and treatment. This year, thousands of riders and volunteers will rally together for the milestone 45th PMC on Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4 with a common goal of raising as much money as possible to fight cancer.
“I’m pleased to officially welcome Incyte into the PMC community for the milestone 45th year,” said Billy Starr, Founder and Executive Director of the PMC. “On behalf of the thousands of riders that are gearing up to cycle, we are grateful to be fully supported at the Walpole water stop throughout PMC weekend.”
The Walpole water stop is along the 25-mile, 50-mile, and Wellesley Century routes.
In 2024, the PMC has a record-breaking fundraising goal of $75 million for Dana-Farber, positioning the organization to cross $1 billion in lifetime fundraising. For the 18th consecutive year, the organization will donate 100 percent of all rider-raised dollars to Dana-Farber.

About the Pan-Mass Challenge
The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is a bike-a-thon that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world. The PMC was founded in 1980 by Billy Starr, who remains the event's executive director, an annual cyclist, and a fundraiser. The PMC has since raised $972 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The event donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause, generating 62 percent of the Jimmy Fund's annual revenue as Dana-Farber's single largest contributor. The PMC has successfully melded support from committed cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and individual contributors, all of which are essential to the PMC's goal and model: to attain maximum fundraising efficiency while increasing its annual gift. The PMC's hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.
