Covid-19 Update for PMC 2021

Published Date:   July 26, 2021

Topic:   PMC News

Dear PMC community,

You know from news coverage that Covid-19 cases are on the rise, even among those who have been vaccinated. We at the Pan-Mass Challenge remain committed to staging a safe PMC 2021 for riders, volunteers, and the towns that host us. As a reminder, this year’s PMC weekend activities are being held entirely outdoors and are designed to minimize the density of participants on and off the bike. While masks are not generally required during PMC weekend, you must wear them in changing tents, on ferries, and when receiving any roadside or medical assistance.

Of special interest to those volunteering or finishing in Provincetown, yesterday the town select board passed an indoor mask mandate. This is the 42nd year that Provincetown has welcomed the PMC and so we cannot overemphasize the importance of our riders and volunteers demonstrating full compliance with this mandate when in town.

Lastly, the PMC has instituted a mask mandate at the Needham headquarters for all staff, volunteers, and visitors so that we are in the best possible position to run a safe and successful ride weekend on August 7 and 8.

Thank you for your ongoing support and your perseverance in our shared fight against cancer,

Billy Starr
Founder/Executive Director
