Worcester to Provincetown Inn Route

The Worcester to Provincetown Inn route is a two-day route in the Pan-Mass Challenge. This route is new in 2026 and replaces the Sturbridge to Provincetown Inn route.

Regardless of which route you ride, 100 percent of every-rider raised dollar goes to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Fundraising Minimum

$6,000

The fundraising commitment requires you to personally guarantee the fundraising minimum whether or not you actually participate in the PMC ride. The fundraising deadline is October 1, 2026.

Registration Fee

$375 includes lodging at MMA (dorm, shared space, or tent)
$325 without lodging

The registration fee is not refundable and does not apply towards your fundraising minimum

Check-In

Check in at the College of the Holy Cross between 2 and 8 PM to receive your jersey, socks, and rider credentials, including your wristband, bike tag, name tags, and luggage tags. Check-in will be inside the Hart Center. All riders are required to wear their wristband PMC weekend.

Riders must show photo ID at check-in.

Transportation

Riders may choose to take a bus from Boston (1 PM departure) or Wellesley (1:30 PM departure) to Worcester. Riders can select one of these options during registration for an additional cost ($50).

Food & Drinks

The Friday afternoon barbecue will be held at Holy Cross for riders and guests. Guest meal tickets will be available for purchase during rider registration ($20 for adults, $10 for children).

Merchandise

New PMC merchandise will be available for purchase in Worcester. The store will be set up inside of the Hart Center.

Lodging

Optional: Lodging is available in Worcester Friday night at an additional cost and is not included in the registration fee. Registered riders will be emailed a link to room blocks after they register for PMC 2026 and will be able to book their own rooms; the PMC will not be booking hotel rooms for riders in Worcester, as was done in Sturbridge.

Shuttles

Free shuttle buses between Holy Cross and local hotels referenced above will be available Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Riders are encouraged to take these shuttles to and from the start to reduce the number of cars driving on campus. A list of the hotels and shuttle schedule will be made available in 2026.

Day One: Saturday, August 1

Worcester to Mass Maritime Academy (Bourne)

 

Start

Riders will start from Holy Cross on Saturday at 6 AM. View the start line and full route here.

Breakfast

Breakfast is available at Holy Cross from 4:30 to 5:45 AM. Breakfast will be inside the Hart Center.

Bike Mechanics

Emergency bike service available at Holy Cross from 2 to 8 PM on Friday and 4:30 to 5:45 AM on Saturday. Bike mechanics will be in the parking lot in front of the Hart Center.

Water Stops

There are 5 water stops along the Worcester to Bourne route:

Northbridge (mile 16)
Franklin (mile 33)
Dighton-Rehoboth (mile 60)  – lunch stop
Lakeville (mile 74)
Wareham (mile 90)

Finish

All Saturday riders will finish at Mass Maritime Academy (101 Academy Drive, Bourne). The Bourne finish includes food, drinks, showers, live music, and more. Because of limited space, MMA is open to riders only; no guests.

Lodging

Based on availability, riders may select lodging at MMA during registration. Riders may choose to stay on campus in a room, in a shared space, or in their own tent; the registration fee is $375 for riders who choose to stay on campus in the dorms, shared space, or tent.

Riders may choose their own accommodations and choose to stay off campus; the registration fee for these riders is $325.

Luggage

The PMC will transport one bag (not to exceed 20 pounds) per rider from Worcester to MMA. 

Day Two: Sunday, August 2

Mass Maritime Academy (Bourne) to Provincetown Inn Finish

Start

Riders may start from Mass Maritime Academy on Sunday anytime between 5 and 6 AM. There is no mass start; riders should roll out as they are ready. Riders are also encouraged to start from their local hotel or home and just merge into the route.

Note that riding across the Bourne Bridge will only be possible between 5 and 6:15 AM; outside those times, riders must walk their bikes using the sidewalk.

Water Stops

There are 3 water stops along the Bourne to Provincetown route:

Barnstable (mile 25)
Brewster (mile 40)
Wellfleet (mile 58)

Finish

Riders will finish at the Provincetown Inn Finish (1 Commercial Street, Provincetown), which is one of two finish lines in Provincetown. The finish includes food, drinks, showers, music, and more.

Guests are not allowed at the Provincetown Inn.

Luggage

The PMC will transport one bag (not to exceed 20 pounds) per rider from MMA to Provincetown.

Transportation

Riders may purchase a bus ticket from Provincetown to Worcester or a ferry ticket from Provincetown to Boston. Riders may also choose to purchase a bus ticket from Boston to Worcester; buses depart after ferries arrive in Boston. Riders can select one of these options during registration for an additional cost, based on availability.
