The Pan-Mass Challenge now accepts donations by Venmo! We’ve adopted a technology called Flowcodes (customized QR codes) that enables Venmo users to donate to your PMC fundraising.
Click “Add Donate by Venmo to My Profile Page” on your Manage page to get your unique Flowcode so you can receive Venmo donations.
Share your profile page with your new “Donate by Venmo” option!
When a donor views your profile page on a desktop, they will see the “Donate by Venmo” button. When they click on it, the Flowcode image will appear and they will point their phone’s camera at the it (but not take a photo) and a pop-up message will appear prompting them to open Venmo (in a browser or app).
The donor’s Venmo will be pre-populated with the PMC’s Venmo account name (pan-mass-challenge) and your egift ID and name in the “What’s it for?” field.
The donor enters the donation amount and clicks “Pay.”
Your Donate by Venmo short URL works on mobile devices but not on desktop browsers. You will receive your short URL in your Donate by Venmo Flowcode activation email.
Print your Flowcode image on posters to accept Venmo donations at your next fundraising event
Include your Flowcode image in fundraising letters and cards
When a donor points their phone’s camera at the Flowcode image (not take a photo) a pop-up message will appear prompting them to open Venmo (in a browser or app).
The donor’s Venmo will be pre-populated with the PMC’s Venmo account name (pan-mass-challenge) and your egift ID and name in the “What’s it for?” field.
The donor enters the donation amount and clicks “Pay.”
This Flowcode is for the Pan-Mass Challenge's general fund.
You will receive a PMC email notification with your donor’s name and donation amount.
Venmo provides names only (no emails or addresses), so we hope you will recognize your donors by name and can thank them through whatever channel is best for you.
Venmo is one of the most popular peer-to-peer payment platforms.
No, you do not need a Venmo account to activate your unique Donate by Venmo Flowcode. Your donors who use Venmo can donate to your fundraising even if you do not use Venmo because they are sending the money to the Pan-Mass Challenge’s Venmo account earmarked for your PMC fundraising.
Flowcodes are customized QR codes. The PMC is using them to facilitate Venmo gifts to PMC riders' fundraising.
At this time, Flowcodes for Venmo donations are available for individual fundraisers only, not teams.
The Pan-Mass Challenge will send donors who make a gift of $250 or more a notification through our Venmo account informing them that their donation is 100 percent tax deductible and that they can email panmass@pmc.org to request a tax receipt.
