#WhyIPMC guest blog by Paul Mooney, 28-year Living Proof® rider / virtual rider
This year. I am a virtual rider. From 1997-2016, I rode from Sturbridge to Provincetown 18 times. I vowed after the first year that I would ride every year (if I could) until I went a whole year without losing a friend or relative to cancer. After 20 years, I unfortunately realized that would probably never happen. And now I am a cancer survivor having been diagnosed in 2019. I took a few years off but came back in 2021 for another ride in my 71st year. I applaud all those that continue to ride and support many of them as well as make my own contributions. Maybe there is a 20th ride in my future. Thank you to all that ride as we truly are getting closer by the mile.
