Larry Lucchino cheers on wife Stacey, captain of Team 9 at the Wellesley starting line

This morning at Babson College in Wellesley, more than 2,000 cyclists set off to ride 82 miles during the 31st Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, day one, Wellesley to Bourne route. Meredith Beaton-Starr and Boston Red Sox CEO, Larry Lucchino, kicked off the morning with words of encouragement to the PMC riders. Larry can always be found at the Wellesley start on PMC weekend with a homemade sign to cheer on his wife Stacey and the cyclists Team 9. Professional opera singer, Andrew Garland, belted out the National Anthem and then two teenage cancer survivors, Krysta Kalajian, 18, and Janette Mustasa 17, counted down the ride for the PMCers to start their journey to the Cape. The PMC cyclists were adorned with decorations on their helmets and bikes to distinguish their individual team or cancer patient they're riding for. Everyone was excited and ready to get on the road.
