PMC at Opening Night of La Bohème

BLO Music Director David Angus conducts the Boston Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Rosetta Cucchi makes her BLO and American directorial debut. BLO favorite Kelly Kaduce (Madama Butterfly, Thais 2006) makes her long-awaited Boston return as Mimì, joining fellow alum of Baz Luhrmann’s Broadway La Bohème, Jesus Garcia, in his BLO debut. They appear with Jonathan Beyer (The Barber of Seville 2012) as Marcello and 18 year PMC rider Andrew Garland, as Shaunard. Andrew has sung the National Anthem for the PMC at the Sturbridge start, Babson start and at PMC Day at Fenway. As Billy Starr said; "for those of you who have ridden out of Sturbridge and awakened to the most amazing national anthem you have ever heard sung......."

Reimagined against the electrifying backdrop of the 1968 Paris student revolution and inspired by the films of the French New Wave, this theatrically  and musically vivid new production transports one of the world’s greatest love stories to a mythological Paris, fueled by sexual liberation, intense passion, and burning idealism.
