Keep Your Bike(s) Safe

Published Date:   July 01, 2016

Topic:   PMC News, Sponsor News

The PMC is proud to introduce our new cause marketing partner, Rejjee. The sad fact is more than 2,000,000 bikes are stolen in the US each year. But while police recover hundreds of bikes each month fewer than 2% are returned to the rightful owner mainly because so few bikes are registered.

Rejjee runs SAFE Bikes the largest most successful anti-bike-theft program in the country. In partnership with Microsoft New England, returning stolen bikes at 7X the national average. Rejjee is a mobile app that lets you register your bike including serial number so if it's ever lost/stolen you can report it right from your phone. A notice is posted immediately in the cloud where fellow riders, bike shops, and local police can be on the lookout. Rejjee is supported by MassBike, MassCommute, MassRides, Boston Cyclists Union, Cambridge Bicycle Committee, Somerville Bike Committee, the NY Bicycling Coalition, and the Florida Bicycle Association. Rejjee is also the official bike registry of the MBTA Police and has been working directly wit h the Boston, Somerville, Cambridge, Quincy, and many other area police departments.

A special PMC edition of Rejjee Security Stickers are available on Amazon at 3 for $10, with $4 donated back to PMC. We encourage all of our riders, alumni, volunteers and friends to register your bikes with Rejjee.
