Heavy Hitter registration opens Jan 5, alumni registration on Jan. 11, and open registration starts Jan .18. Here's the official announcement:

Registration opens Jan. 18 for the 32nd annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge

New 25-mile route added

NEEDHAM, Mass. -- The weather outside may be frightful, but many cyclists from across the country are gearing up to ride up to 190 miles in the 32nd annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (PMC) and raise money for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Online registration opens to the public on Jan. 18, 2011 at www.pmc.org.

The 32nd annual event will offer a new 25-mile route, which will join 10 existing routes that range from 47 to 190 miles. It will bring less experienced riders from Babson College in Wellesley to the high school in Sharon. "The new route will expand options for riders and make the event more inclusive," said Billy Starr, PMC founder and executive director. The one-day, 25-mile ride will take place on Sunday of PMC weekend. Riders will be required to raise a minimum of $500.

"Each year, we aim to improve upon the event and encourage more people to ride, volunteer, or contribute financially.  Everything we do is in effort to educate the public Dana-Farber's groundbreaking research and its compassionate, world class care and to show how their support is critical to Dana-Farber's mission," said Starr.
