While your site is operational, you will keep the Command Center updated on any critical needs or happenings at your site, and you will ensure that site leadership is informed of any urgent or emergent situations from Command. You'll be stationed with the Medical team and have close communication with both your site leader and the Command Center Liaison Leader. Please make sure to register for the "Command Center Liaison - MMA" role so that you will be included in Command Center volunteer communications.

Volunteers will be most likely be stationed in the sun, so it is recommend to bring water, sunscreen and an umbrella for shade.

Command Sunday, Aug. 2, 4 am - 4 pm
Command Support
Command Support is the "nerve center" of PMC weekend, where volunteers field calls to 1-800-WE-CYCLE and route them to the appropriate team for resolution. Volunteers also monitor events along the route and at all water stops and hub sites to anticipate calls or coordinate responses. Volunteers should have strong customer support skills and enjoy a fast-paced environment. All volunteers are welcome, ideally those who can sign up to work for the entire weekend. This position is based out of Mass Maritime Academy in Bourne, MA.

Transportation
Command Weekend
Transportation
The Transportation team provides rides to PMC riders who need to leave the route for any reason. Responsibilities include driving to PMC water stops and driving riders either to the next water stop, or to the end of that day’s route. Drivers must be 21 or older, with a good driving record. It's also important that volunteers can navigate using GPS (their own or one provided to them). Drivers are encouraged to sign up to volunteer for the entire weekend. This position is based out of Mass Maritime Academy in Bourne, MA.

Responsibilities include working at designated intersections and points along the route. Route guides inform riders of hazards and cheer riders on, but do not get involved in directing traffic (a police responsibility!). Shift lengths for Saturday and Sunday depend upon the position on the route. Volunteers will pick up their registration packet at the water stop associated with the position. Volunteers will be most likely be stationed in the sun, so it is recommend to bring water, sunscreen and an umbrella for shade.

Route guides inform riders of hazards and cheer riders on, but do not get involved in directing traffic (a police responsibility!). Shift lengths for Saturday and Sunday depend upon the position on the route. Volunteers will pick up their registration packet at the water stop associated with the position. Volunteers will be most likely be stationed in the sun, so it is recommend to bring water, sunscreen and an umbrella for shade.

Command Liaison

The Command Center Liaison is a critical role in ensuring that information flows between the Command Center and water stops and Hub Sites. While your site is operational, you will keep the Command Center updated on any critical needs or happenings at your site, and you will ensure that site leadership is informed of any urgent or emergent situations from Command. You'll be stationed with the Medical team and have close communication with both your site leader and the Command Center Liaison Leader. Please make sure to register for the "Command Center Liaison - MMA" role so that you will be included in Command Center volunteer communications.
