Greenwood Industries, the Northeast’s leading provider of commercial roofing and custom building‑envelope solutions, today announced its role as an official water stop sponsor at the Whitinsville stop for the 2025 Pan‑Mass Challenge (PMC). This marks the first year of a three‑year partnership: Greenwood will serve as a water stop sponsor in 2025 and advance to hub site sponsor in 2026 and 2027 when the event’s starting line relocates to the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, where Greenwood Industries is based.
The PMC is the nation’s most successful athletic fundraising event, having raised over $1 billion for Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute since its founding in 1980. Each August, thousands of riders traverse Massachusetts roads in support of life‑saving cancer research and patient care. In 2025, the organization has a fundraising goal of $76 million, with 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar going directly to Dana-Farber.
“Support from Greenwood Industries helps fuel the incredible efforts of our riders and volunteers, bringing us Closer by the Mile to breakthroughs in cancer research and care,” said Billy Starr, Founder & Chairman of the Pan-Mass Challenge. “This new three-year partnership will strengthen our mission as we look ahead to a new starting line at Holy Cross in 2026.”
After serving as a 2025 Whitinsville water stop sponsor in 2025, Greenwood’s role will expand as hub site sponsor, helping to welcome thousands of cyclists at the new Worcester start in 2026 and 2027.
“We’re thrilled to welcome PMC riders through our home region,” said Dave Klein, CEO of Greenwood Industries. “I’ve long admired Billy Starr’s incredible work, and with the starting line coming to Worcester in 2026, it only made sense for Greenwood to step up and support this great cause.”

The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is a bike-a-thon that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world. The PMC was founded in 1980 by Billy Starr, who remains the event's Founder & Chairman, an annual cyclist, and a fundraiser. The PMC has since raised $1.047 billion for adult and pediatric patient care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The event donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause, generating 66 percent of the Jimmy Fund's annual revenue as Dana-Farber's single largest contributor. The PMC has successfully melded support from committed cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and individual donors, all of whom are essential to the PMC's goal and model: to attain maximum fundraising efficiency while increasing its annual gift. The PMC's hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.
