On Saturday, Nov. 8, hundreds of PMC riders, volunteers and supporters donning creative black tie apparel will converge around, in and on the field under a clear topped tent at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark, Fenway Park to celebrate the 35th Pan-Mass Challenge at the PMC Check Presentation Gala produced by Rafanelli Events. Highlight of the night will be the announcement of what is projected to be a record breaking gift to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.
PMC’s record breaking fundraising goal for 2014 is $40,000,000, which would bring the PMC’s 35-year gift to the Jimmy Fund to $454 million. The sum will be raised by more than 5,700 cyclists who rode in the annual bike-a-thon. Riders included more than 300 cancer survivors and current patients as well as avid cyclists and weekend warriors. Many rode in support of loved ones being treated for cancer or in memory of those who have been lost to the disease.
Guests will start the evening by enjoying live music and cocktails in the EMC Club and State Street Pavilion while celebrating and reflecting on their past PMC experiences and goals for future rides. The party will continue through the corridors and onto the field with more live music, food, drink and surprises.
Jody Adams, of Rialto and Trade, and Ming Tsai, of of Blue Ginger and Blue Dragon, will bring their culinary expertise, working together to design the evening’s menu and specialty cocktails. Adams is a four-time PMC cyclist who rides alongside her sister Ginny, in honor of their sister, Eliza, a veteran PMC volunteer and two-time PMC Living Proof cyclist who is currently battling her second bout with breast cancer.
Live music during the night from; Eye 2 Eye, American Young, Rachel Gawell Quartet, 12:01 Blues Band, The Harvard Opportunes & more!
