Pan-Mass Challenge Announces Record $70 Million Fundraising Goal for 2023 to Support Lifesaving Cancer Research and Care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

After raising an unprecedented $69 million in 2022, the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), the two-day bike-a-thon across Massachusetts that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic event in the country, intends to lift the fundraising bar once again. The organization recently announced its 2023 fundraising goal for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute: a record $70 million.

The PMC, which donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar to support lifesaving cancer research and care, is Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor, accounting for more than 60 percent of its Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. If achieved, this record fundraising campaign would bring the PMC’s total contributions in the fight against cancer to $970 million since 1980, positioning the organization to cross a monumental $1 billion cumulative fundraising milestone in 2024.

Fundraising for this year’s gift kicks off on February 4 during the PMC Winter Cycle, where hundreds of spin enthusiasts came together for high-energy indoor cycling sessions led by Boston’s best instructors overlooking the historic Fenway Park.

While registration for this year’s PMC, which will take place August 5 and 6, is filling up quickly, it’s not too late to join the organization and its dedicated community in its mission to fund the cures for cancer – you can learn more and register to ride up to 211 miles in PMC 2023 at pmc.org/ride. If gravel biking is more your speed, registration for this fall’s PMC Unpaved ride in the Berkshires opens in April. For more information on PMC Unpaved, visit unpaved.org.
