This year, I’ve signed up for my first Pan-Mass Challenge. While the full PMC is a 180-mile trek across the state,
as a very inexperienced rider, I’m starting with the 50-mile loop. Regardless of the route, any distance feels small compared to the reason I’m riding.
Weeks before the COVID pandemic shut down the world in 2020, my world had already changed forever with the loss of my dad. He had been fighting Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma for 18 months, a journey that included a grueling, failed stem cell transplant and numerous hospital stays. I am riding for a future where cancer doesn't keep a father from walking his daughter down the aisle or prevent grandkids from meeting their grandfather. My goal for this 50-mile ride is to raise $2,000. I was blown away by support from family, coworkers, and friends - both old and new - in more than doubling that goal in the first week that I announced my inaugural ride. I'd love to keep up the momentum and raise even more for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
