Walter Stone's Ride
Why I Ride ...
August 2009 will be my second time as a participant in the Pan Mass challenge. Friends have been riding in the PMC for years and I have been a sponsor for years. Our family and friends and even some of us, who have or will become affected by cancer need this event to help eliminate cancer. While the ride and fundraising are no small task, with your help and support, I will be able to be part of the effort to search for a solution.
Once again I will be riding as a member of Team Xaverian. Last year, the members of Team Xaverian collectively raised $38,750 which was earmarked to support the cancer research efforts of Dr. Christopher Turner, the Director of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Outcomes Research at Dana Farber. Dr. Turner specializes in the survival of children stricken with brain tumors and he is a 1985 graduate of XBHS.
I believe participating in the 2009 PMC as a member of Team Xaverian offers a truly special means of helping others in a way that provides a satisfying personal challenge.
Thank you for your support.
