Tony O'Donnell's Ride
Why I Ride ...
After my mother-in-law, Lorraine Fontaine, lost her courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer in 2004, I felt that participating in the Pan Mass Challenge was a venture that would allow me to play a small part in helping to eradicate this disease once and for all. Lorraine Fontaine loved all children and in her memory, I joined TeamBrent whose 46 members are dedicted in directing their fundraising efforts to the Pediatric Oncology unit at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Brent is a young boy suffering from Neuroblastomo who is alive and well, thanks to the efforts of the medical staff at Dana Farber.
Brent and many other young cancer patients have benefited from experimental treatment that has been made possible from the purchase of specialized machinery through the fundraising efforts of TeamBrent. To see the faces of children that are full of joy and happiness despite their suffering makes the two days of cycling seem insignificant in comparison. I'll keep cycling for this cause, if you can continue to support me.
