For the fourth year, Brielle's Brigade has returned to participate in the 30^th annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (PMC) to raise money for The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.  And, this year the team is bigger than ever!  With fifteen experienced PMCers and eight freshman (five of which have only recently purchased their first bikes), the team is set for many miles of riding and, more importantly, raising money for cancer research and treatment. 

Since Brielle's Brigade first came together in 2006 as a small group of seven riders, the team has raised more than $300,000 for this worthy cause.  Consistently, the team has been overwhelmed by the community's extreme generosity while also being humbled to be part of this amazing annual event.  For three days in August, thousands of riders of every skill set, background, fitness level and age unite for a single cause? to ensure we can soon say there is a cure for cancer.

Each and every one of us has been touched through family and friends by cancer.  It only takes one of these experiences to understand the importance of finding a cure.  We come together again this year in honor and memory of many loved ones who are battling or have battled the disease.  Specifically, we are elated to report that our team namesake, Brielle, now ten years old, has passed the three year anniversary of her bone marrow transplant and continues to thrive.  It is stories like Brielle's that reinforce the importance of the work of organizations like Dana-Farber. 

This year, we are also extremely proud to ride to honor of the courage of our new friend, Justin, our six year old Pedal Partner who is currently undergoing treatment for Leukemia.   

In 2009, our goal is to surpass $400,000 in fundraising for the PMC.  Thank you again for your support over the past three years and we hope for your continued commitment to finding a cure!!!
