Sue Keefe's Ride

Why I Ride ...

Dear friends,

Once again I've committed to raising money for cancer research by riding in the 2012 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). On the first weekend in August, I will join 5,500 cyclists in the PMC ride, an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DCFI) in Boston.

This is my 2nd year riding the PMC and I cannot even tell you the feelings that I had throughout the entire journey!  The support from all of the people on the road thanking us for riding made it that much easier to continue on.  Wow is the only word that comes to my mind thinking back on it all, it was amazing how could I not want to take part in something so special again.

My greatest highlight last year (well there was quite a few) was coming up to our 3rd stop and seeing our sponsor Samantha Bourque standing there all smiles waiting for us to come and meet her! She was amazing, strong young girl fighting this horrible disease.  How could I complain at all after seeing her, I pushed myself to the finish with her smile helping me along the way.

I personally have a few reasons of my own for riding this year,  In Honor of my Friend/ Aunt Cathie Tourtellot who is in her 2nd remission,  STRONG is not the word for this woman she needs something bigger!  Unfortunately I am adding another friend this year Brian Stanley who is fighting lung Cancer with god’s will and his fight he will be my honor again next year.

In Memory this year with a very heavy heart I am riding for my little friend Travis Schifflet who lost his battle last year just before my ride!!!!

I hope I can count on your support!!!

I’ve made a personal commitment to ride and raise $3,100. So I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal.

We can make a difference!!!

Love & Thanks,

Sue
