Ralph Romano's Ride
Why I Ride ...
This will be my second year riding the PMC. Last year I rode thinking of all the loved ones I've lost. Mother, cousin, cousin's wife, wife's best friend's mother, brother-in-law's father, brother's brother-in-law, 4 former co-workers, best friend...the list continues.
I also like to think about the survivors. My friend Deb went in for a routine mammogram last June where they found a suspicious spot. A biopsy confirmed her worst fears and she underwent a mastectomy and lymph node removal in August. The cancer had spread from a tiny 1cm ductal tumor to 9 of 17 lymph nodes (the doctors were not expecting that). Deb needed chemo AND radiation. It's been a tough road for her, but she's looking forward to the next phase of her life. Her friends and family have been so wonderful and supportive...she is surviving today because of ALL of them. And in her words... "I have a new outlook...the precious gift that I have been given...the gift of life, is my opportunity to live with intensity, do the best I can to be a positive influence in this world, and to give hope to others".
Your donation, your 'gift', is also the gift of life. Not only for Deb, but possibly any one of us.
