I wish that I could say that I was untouched by cancer this year, but, like many of you, my family was not spared of having to deal with this deadly disease.  On March 22, 2011, my Uncle Valter Melo, passed away, after losing his battle with cancer.  This year I am dedicating my ride to him and the many other family and friends that have lost their battle, those who continue their struggle and those who have successfully beaten this horrible disease.

So, again this August I will be joining 5,000 other cyclists in riding my bike for 160 miles over two days from Wellesley to Provincetown.
