Robert DeMartini's Ride
Why I Ride ...
2010 will be the fourth year I participate in the 200+ mile two day fundraising ride.
For many of you this will be your 4th year supporting the event as well since I have benefitted from many returning sponsors. You have helped me raise nearly $30 K and this year I am aiming to raise over $7500.
This event continues to amaze me as a participant. The logistics of housing, feeding, routing and leading 6,000 riders is an incredible undertaking and quite a sight to see. The attitude and spirit that exists with the nearly 4,000 volunteers is truly unbelievable. At meals, rest stops, and watering zones and in every town, there are volunteers willing to provide you a snack, drink or words of encouragement.
The most touching and motivating sight, which is not at all rare, are the cancer survivors, who line the route, thanking the riders for raising the funds. Old men, young kids, Moms and Dads, most with pictures of them in one stage or another of beating cancer are cheering you on to help beat this disease in our lifetime
Your donations are appreciated and are making a difference.
Thank you for your support
Sincerely,
Rob DeMartini
