Why I Ride ...

I had my first hospital experience in my life a few years ago when I had a serious back injury. At first I thought I would never be able to enjoy all my hobbies, like skiing and especially bicycling again. Today I am back to normal and enjoy all the sports. After seeing so many friends and acquaintances afflicted by cancer, I came to realize what I had was a "piece of cake" and its time to give something back. I decided to do so by riding the PMC, however it is not until this year when my work schedule will allow me to participate in the ride from Wellesley to Provincetown.

On one of my after-work rides on a perfect autumn evening in '08, I met Steven Branfman as I sprinted back towards Newton. He invited me to join his regular bicycle group. Although I couldn't join Steven and the group on the road anymore because of the winter, but when it was time to sign-up for the PMC I immediately did so.

As a newcomer to the PMC I am honored to join the Kermit Team to support its cause and I am looking forward to the companionship on the road, not only during the PMC ride but also leading up to it.

I think I will be OK to ride the 163 miles by myself (and with the support of the Kermit-Team), but do need your help to raise the money for the Jimmy Fund at the Dana Faber Cancer Institute, to fight cancer, as well as to pay tribute to the ones who lost the battle against cancer, and support the ones who have to continue to fight.

Thank you for contributing to this great cause to fight cancer and thank you for your support!
