Philip Hirshberg's Ride
Why I'm Riding....
This is my second year riding the PMC. Last year was an incredibly rewarding experience and I am looking forward to this year's ride. To all those who supported me last year thank you again and I hope to count on your support once more. I am riding in memory of my grandmother, Katherine Hirshberg, who passed away from cancer in 1991, as well as other family members, friends, and colleagues who have suffered from cancer, including, most recently, my colleague, Tom Federico, who passed away at the age of 52. I am also riding in honor of others who have fought cancer with success, and benefited from treatment at Dana Farber. I am glad to be a small part of a much greater effort to fight cancer and support those who are suffering from the disease.
I am riding for the Pedals for Pediatrics team (P4P). The Pedals for Pediatrics team is dedicated to raising money for, and awareness of, pediatric oncology services and research at the Dana-Farber/Childrens Hospital Cancer Care. A link to Pedals for Pediatrics is below.
I'm also a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge
to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went
directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's
tireless commitment to finding a cure.
