Peter Grocott's Ride

Why I Ride ...

In June, 1988, I lost my father, Jim Grocott, to pancreatic cancer.  In October, 2007, I lost my mother-in-law, Mary McKee, to pancreatic cancer.

Cancer is incidious, leaving a path of tragedy in its wake.  It is this tragedy that I have experienced.  I miss them both every day.  Now I choose to honor them by doing what my healthy body can to help in the fight against cancer.  My hope is that others do not have to suffer as my parents did.

I will be joining a group of riders in East Longmeadow called Brielle's Brigade.  Brielle's Brigade was formed early in 2006 in honor of one special girl who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2003 and underwent a successful bone marrow transplant in 2006.  Four years later, she continues to thrive.  We ride for Brielle and other loved ones who currently battle cancer, have lost the battle, and who do not yet know the fight they will unvoluntarily be asked to wage in the future.

Please help.
