maura thursby's Ride
Why I Ride ...
2012 will be my first year doing the two day ride. I am excited by the extra challenge and to be able to ride with such inspiring friends as Colleen and Frank Duffy. They continue to amaze me with their resilience and willingness to help others after tremendous loss. As always Meghan Duffy, a very specail 11 year old girl, got me on the bike, no small accomplishement for a runner. This year there is added incentive after the tragic passing of Colleen's sister- in-law Sharon in January from leukemia at age 41, mother of Emily Meghan 5 and Jack -3. This dreaded disease needs to be stopped and after having ridden for 4 years I am lucky to witness the positive side of your donations from the people that line our 190 miles thanking us because they are cancer free. Please support this wonderful cause so we can have more happy endings.
Please join Mike, myself, Colleen and Frank on Saturday March 10th at Highland Country Club for our 5th Annual Cocktails for a Cure Event to support our ride. There will be raffle, silent and live auction items as well as plenty of food and great company.
