I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.

I have been an avid spinner at the JCC for the last several years. In addition, to the benefits of this great  form of exercise, I have been fortunate to meet a wonderful group of people who ride the PMC as part of Team Perry. It was only a matter of time before I would be encouraged to become a part of this wonderful team. I will ride my 2nd Pan Mass Challenge from Wellesley to Bourne this August! Last year's ride was life changing for me and I am excited to ride once again!!

 

Team Perry began shortly after  32 year old Perry Levy passed away from his short battle with cancer of the small bowel. Perry was a marathon runner and tri-athlete. He lost his battle 4 months after he was diagnosed. Perry's wife Melissa Jacoby and her dad, Bernie Gitlin created Team Perry as a tribute to Perry's memory and to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

 

Team Perry has raised well over 3 million dollars since 2001. The money raised provides for the annual salary of gifted medical research fellows whose contributions will help to find a cure. Two fellows will continue to be supported this year: Dr. Kelly May and Dr. Andrea Myers. Team Perry's first 5 recipients have all received appointments to the Harvard Medical School faculty and are medical oncologists at the Dana-Farber Institute or Mass General Hospital. Team Perry's dollars go right to the research and ultimately to the needed cure for this dreadful disease.

 

I am thrilled to be part of the PMC and Team Perry. I will ride 86 miles from Wellesley to Bourne to do my part. My practice has begun but i won't be able to reach my fundrasing goal of $3,000 without your support. Please remember, no amount is too small!
