On August 4th and 5th, 2012 I will be participating in my fourth Pan Mass Challenge ride.  Some of you may not know what the Pan Mass Challenge is, or means.  The PMC is the nation’s original fundraising bike-a-thon and today raises more money than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. Since its inception in 1980, the PMC has contributed more than $270 million to lifesaving cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. 100% of the money I raise goes to the Dana-Farber!!!

You might be asking why I am doing this for the 4th straight year, and the answer is easy.  There are still far too many men, women and children dying from cancer every year.  I ride for Team Perry, which was started by Melissa Jacoby.  I've known Melissa since junior high, and we graduated from Newton South together.  Melissa lost her husband Perry to cancer at the age of 32; Team Perry was born soon after.  We are a group of passionate and dedicated riders committed to funding the Perry S. Levy Fund for Gastrointestinal Cancer Research. The Perry S. Levy Fund allows the appointment of a Research Fellow at Dana-Farber. Cancer does not discriminate.  It has touched all of our lives in some way.  But at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, amazing strides are being made every day. Hopefully someday cancer will be a thing of the past.  However, in order to achieve this goal, it costs money, and we need your support.
