Dear Family and Friends:                              July 9, 2011

On August 6th and 7th I will be part of the 32^nd annual Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC).  I need your support as I participate in my 15^th PMC by volunteering at Mass Maritime in Bourne on Saturday and Provincetown on Sunday. Please join me as I assist the efforts of over 5,000 riders and 3,000 volunteers (my son and his friends will also be riding 2 days, over 180 miles to Provincetown) in our attempt to raise $34 million to support the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

The PMC is the largest single fundraising event for the Jimmy Fund to support cancer research and patient care, and donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause. This year our hearts are deeply saddened by the loss of three wonderful PMC friends who died this year from cancer �" Manny Marques, Sue Redfield and Sam Zoll. They were an inspiration to many and they will never be forgotten.

At age 64, I have been blessed with a healthy family, a meaningful life, prayerfully a new ministry and now four grandchildren - Liam, Lucas, AJ and Toby.  Being involved with the PMC has provided me the opportunity to be associated with a wonderful “family” effort and to meet some truly remarkable people.  The checks, made payable to the PMC-Jimmy Fund, should be received by August 5^th (681 Boulevard, Revere MA 02151).
