Matt Grosshandler's Ride
Why I Ride ...
Thank you for visiting my PMC profile page. As most of you know this is my second PMC event. Last year a few friends suggested I give it a try, and by the end of the ride I was hooked. Brenda looked at me and said she already knew this was going to be an annual event for me.
As many of you know, I have participated in a few charity rides over the past 3 or 4 years (including the Rodman Ride and the Memory Ride), but the PMC truly is something special. The culture of philanthropy rings out at all levels, and the people (donors, riders and volunteers alike) are so genuinely passionate about making a difference, that I couldn't help but get involved again.
This year I will be doing the two day ride, covering a total of 179 miles from
In my life, as like many of yours, I have lost friends and family untimely to one form of cancer or another. While it is difficult for me to think about these losses, it brings me great pleasure to know that by participating in the PMC, we can raise money for cancer research and treatment here at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and to support the ever-important initiatives of the Jimmy Fund.
For the second year now, I will be riding in memory of my grandfather Bernard Potrop who passed away in 1989 of kidney & liver cancer and my cousin Bob Stone who passed away in 2003 after a fight with leukemia. Additionally, I will be riding in memory of my grandfather Les Grosshandler who passed away this past February.
Your donation is 100% tax-deductible and any amount given will be greatly appreciated. PMC has made giving very easy, with their on-line eGift center at www.pmc.org. My eGift number is MG0199.
With warm regards,
Matt Grosshandler
