This year I am a "virtual" rider.  However, cancer is anything but virtual.  It is real and impacts us all.   Although I am not "riding" I am committed to the cause, and raising money to fight this insidious disease.  For this cause, we must all "ride" together.  The reasons for my "ride:"

 

I "ride" for Randy Frank (pictured to your left at the 2003 PMC). Randy is my nephew and the inspiration for Team R which I founded for the 2002 PMC to honor his victory over childhood leukemia. Randy is now 14.  He was diagnosed on October 27, 1999, almost 12 years ago, and finished his treatment almost 9 years ago. His story is living proof of the research that institutes like Dana Farber are doing to help kids and grown-ups beat cancer.

 

I "ride" in memory of Ronni Duncan, our friend, who courageously fought cancer for 15 years. 

 

I "ride" for the kids being treated for cancer, so that the money raised will expedite the finding of a cure..

 

I "ride" for my kids and yours and the hope that they will live in a world where cancer is remembered in the same way that we remember polio and other diseases of the past. 

 

Why do you "ride?" 

This year I have set a goal to raise $5,000 for our "ride."
