Linda Sulkin's Ride

Why I Ride ...

Why am I riding?  There are too many reasons!  One of the biggest reasons is the person on the left of the sign, my best friend of 30 years, Joanne.

When I got the phone call from Joanne confirming her diagnosis, her immediate question was "How am I going to get through this?"  "How am I going to help my girls through this?" As a mother of two beautiful young girls, and a wife to a very supportive, loving husband, Joanne's world came crashing in.  The battle began.  Joanne swiftly went into action, researching the best treatment and doctors for her diagnosis.

After a full course of chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries, Joanne grew more determined, more dedicated and more focused not only on herself and how she could beat this disease, but believe it or not, how she could help others!  Her diagnosis has brought life vividly into focus.

During her treatment, Joanne's mother lost her battle to cancer. Once again, her world came crashing in.  With great courage and deep faith, Joanne herself wrote and delivered a very moving and humorous eulogy once again assisting others through a great loss.

Out of illness and tragedy comes inspiration.  Joanne has inspired me to move my life into focus. Joanne and her husband Paul have ridden in the one day PMC for the past 2 years. This year on August 1st  I will joining Joanne and her husband, along with my friends Jane, Linda and Elizabeth to ride 50 miles in the PMC.  I have also been inspired by my neighbor Matt, my mother and sister Alison.  I will be riding in memory of Patrick, George and one of the most inspiring man in my life, my father.

Please join us by making the PMC your avenue to making a difference in the fight against cancer. Yes, these economic times are difficult for us all but remember, cancer takes no rest, no vacation, needs no help, and is not slowed by the economy. You may send me a check made out to the Jimmy Fund/PMC, and mail it to me at 8 Meadowview Lane, Ipswich, MA  01938, or you can contribute online at: https://www.pmc.org/egifts/LS0207.

If your employer has a matching gift program, contact your HR department for the  process for matches.

Let's celebrate life and live it to the fullest!

I thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
