To my Family and Friends

On August 6th I’ll be riding my second PMC, please take a moment to read why I am riding and why I believe this is a worthy cause.

Three weeks after completing the PMC ride last year my Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  Of course, the news shocked the family.  He received radiation therapy and fortunately suffered only minimal side effects.  He has completed the treatments and we are now anxiously awaiting the results to see how the treatments worked. 

This year I’ll be riding in honor of my Dad.  He's one of the good guys he is always there for everyone anytime you need him.

The Pan-Mass Challenge is a bike ride to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where they specialize in caring for children and adults with cancer.  To learn more about the Dana-Faber Cancer Institute use the link here http://www.dana-faber.org   The bike ride covers up to 200 miles from Sturbridge, MA to Provincetown, MA.  There are an estimated 5000 bike riders all with the common goal of eradicating this disease.  I’ll be riding 110 miles from Sturbridge to Bourne, MA. 

This year I’ll also be riding the PMC in memory of my Uncle Jack and Jeff Mooney.  I’m riding to help with the continuing efforts to support the research needed to improve the quality of life for those with cancer and to reduce the types of cancer that exist with the hope that one day cancer will no longer exist.

This is the second year I’ll be riding on Team LEGS (Legs Ending Great Suffering) a great group of people with incredible dedication and determination towards fighting this battle.
