Kevin Robbins's Ride

Why I Ride ...

I do the PMC for lots of reasons.  I do it because I can pedal a bicycle 192 miles.  It's not easy, but it's sure easier than having Cancer. I do it because I love combining something I care deeply about with something I love doing. I do it because the PMC gives us cause for serious reflection and equally serious celebration! I do it in hopes that my effort will inspire others to join in this campaign.   I do it because Cancer has touched my life and I do it because I'm sure it has touched yours too.

I began riding the PMC 20 years ago when my Brother in law was diagnosed with lung cancer. He lost his battle later that year at the age of 51.Twenty years later cancer is still affecting our lives. In the past two years both my Mother and Father both lost their battles with cancer. During the past 20 years far too many friends and family members have battled Cancer. Since 1992 tremendous strides have been made in the war against cancer, but more needs to be done. Your support of the PMC helps fund valuable research that is making a difference in the lives of cancer patients every day.

In 2010, the PMC raised $33 million, with 100% of every rider-raised dollar going directly to cancer research and treatment. $303 million in its 31 year history.

I have committed to raise a minimum of $4200 this year. I need your help. You can support this effort via a 100% tax deductible donation to PMC/Jimmy Fund. You can either mail your check to me at 13 Yale Drive, Milford MA 01757 or donate online at www.pmc.org/egifts/kr0006.
