Why I Ride ...
In 2002, I rode my first PMC, and immediately pledged to ride 10 consecutive. Last year, I accomplished this feat -- but it didn't feel like I'd done enough. So, this August 4-5, I will give 110% by riding my 11th consecutive PMC, the 192-mile bike ride across the Commonwealth, to raise money for cancer care and research. This year, I'll ride again as part of Team LEGS, dedicating the ride to our Pedal Partner.
Over the years that I've ridden, family members, friends, colleagues, and neighbors have battled this dreaded disease. Nearly all have prevailed, and now some of those survivors are riding as well. The PMC is a source of inspiration, a source of funds, and a life-affirming community of generosity.
All donations are tax-deductible. Exactly 100% of your donation goes directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund (the PMC's overhead is taken care of by sponsors and the riders). And the concept of "paying it forward" is rarely clearer than here.
This year, I'm trying to raise $6,500 for this very important cause. It's easy to donate, and donations are tax-deductible. Just use the space to the right and make an eGift.
