As I prepare for my third PMC I am very happy to report some positive news (for a change!) regarding a brave young boy by the name of Clayton Ferris. Around this time last year I had learned of this incredible young dynamo who at the age of 18 months had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare and extremely aggressive cancer. Having been given less than a 10% chance of survival, Clayton has completed over two years of extremely aggressive treatment, including 12 weeks of stem cell transplantation at Children's Hospital. But, thanks to the advances that have been made in the treatment of this, and other forms of cancer, Clayton has made amazing progress and has been given a second (or third??) chance at having the life he so richly deserves. But his battle is not over.
During this, the 30th Anniversary of the PMC, I will also be honoring the three people who inspired me to ride: Kenny (Kenny's Crew), Maureen (Team Maureen) and, of course, my amazing Mom, Dorothy. We miss them all so very much. In addition to Clayton Ferris, I also ride with hope and prayers for my Uncle Dick, who continues to do battle on a daily basis and has done so with great courage and humor for so many years. With the help of the money raised by the PMC we might actually see an end to this awful disease during my lifetime!!
Thank you so much for your support! Every donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated and will certainly be put to the greatest use in finding a cure!!
