Jim O'Connor's Ride
MY PMC RIDE
On August 4 & 5, 2012 I will ride in my fourth Pan Mass Challenge (PMC). Along with my friends and teammates from Forza-G I will knock down 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown.
As may or may not know my mother (Jane O'Connor) passed away from cancer when I was 16 years old. Although I was very young (by today's standards) my mother shaped my life in a way she was never able to see. Everything I've done in life I owe to her as she was my biggest champion and wanted nothing but the best for my sister and myself. Even though it's been over 23 years since she has passed there's not a day that goes by that I wish I had just one day to repay her for the life she forged for me.
For those of you who don't know what the PMC is you need to only look at The Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. The PMC is the single largest contributor to Dana Farber and since 1980 has raised over $300,000,000.00 for cancer research. Not only is the PMC the nations single largest charity bike ride, for what will be the fifth consecutive year, 100% of every dollar raised will go directly to cancer research.
If you would like to make a donation there are several ways. One is to click below on the orange bar. If your company does matching donations you can and should take advantage of it as you can donate twice as much as you thought you could. The third option is to send a check made payable to the PMC to my address: James OConnor, 735 Broadway, Haverhill, MA 01832. No donation is too small.
Lastly I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this, without people like yourself we would never find a cure for cancer.
Sincerely,
Jim
