Like almost everyone, members of my family and community have faced battles with cancer. All have battled, many are winning, and some have lost. I'm riding with Team Avanti (Italian for "Go Forward!". This will be my fifth PMC, though I've known about it since before I moved to Boston. Since getting married in 1992, my wife and I have celebrated our August 8 anniversary by supporting PMC riders, starting with Nancy Smith and Sarah Carothers.
