Jeff Linder's Ride
I hope you will contribute to my ride to raise money for cancer research.
As with last year, I'm putting my money where my bicycle is. With this matching program, you can make me pay to ride my bike*:
- If you gave last year, I will match each additional dollar you give over last year's contribution.
- If you are a new donor, I will match each dollar over $50 that you give.
I am honored to be riding with Team Kermit. Steve, Ellen, Adam, and Jared Branfman, along with friends, formed Team Kermit after Jared was diagnosed with spinal and cranial tumors in 2003. Jared worked as a volunteer for the Pan Mass Challenge in 2004 and 2005 and was getting set to ride in 2006. Jared died September 27, 2005. He was 23 years old.
Kermit, one of Jared's favorite childhood characters, represents the ability people have to rise above the ordinary to achieve great results. Team Kermit is raising money for the Jared Branfman Sunflowers for Life Fund for Pediatric Brain and Spinal Cancer Research at the Jimmy Fund, which supports the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Thank you for your generous support.
- Jeff
*Up to $750, an amount carefully chosen to maintain marital harmony. (Idea stolen from Cliff Brown. In 2008 and 2009, I contributed the full $750.)
P.S. Sam, 10 years old, and Daniel, 8 years old, rode in the Newton-Needham-Brookline Kids PMC on May 23, but can still fundraise through September. Please consider contributing to their rides as well. Sam's page is here and Daniel's page is here. Thank you!
