Jennifer Johnson's Ride
Why I Ride ...
My name is Jenny Johnson, I'm 24 years old and a first year rider with the PMC! As an NECN employee, the official media sponsor of the PMC, I was asked to line-produce the NECN LIVE show last year. It was at these Opening Ceremonies, on August 3rd, at the Sturbridge Host Hotel, surrounded by thousands of PMC riders and NECN co-workers, that I made the decision to ride in 2008.
As fellow riders know, its hard to describe the energy in this room- though I can still feel it today. I witnessed stories of families who were torn apart and families who pulled together. I saw women, men and children who died and women, men and children who survived, all from a disease that has or will effect each and every one of us, at some point in our lives.

I recognize now, that the emotional force I felt that night, has helped me get here today. I will ride, knowing that I have committed to these families and these children. I will ride 192 miles knowing that regardless of how tired I may feel, I am healthy and I am living without the mental, physical and emotional pain that cancer patients and loved ones feel each day. I will ride knowing that each dollar raised brings us closer to the day when we can find a cure for this devastating disease.
