Jeffrey Grandchamp's Ride

Why you should donate...Why I ride

Cancer, like death and taxes, will certainly touch each of us in some fashion; whether it is you; a parent, grandparent,  child, spouse, in-law, relative, friend or neighbor.   If you think cancer has not impacted your life or the life of someone close to you, then you haven't been paying attention.
Unfortunately there are millions of stories of cancer-  some tragic; some inspirational.
For a moment, I want you to reflect on a cancer statistic and how grateful one can be to have only a regular risk for cancer, yet how stunningly high that risk remains.
My wife was concerned that she carried a gene which would have meant she had a near 90% chance for breast cancer and of a form with a very high mortality rate.  Obviously we were more than relieved when the genetic testing came back negative.  After a few moments in which we both silently reflected on our relief,  Laura  said, "Now, like every other woman, I only have a 11% chance of breast cancer."

Every woman- 11%.  This is the reason I am riding in the PMC.
