Janet Fischer's Ride
2011....
I rode in the Wellesley loop for three years (2007 to 2009), but am now focussing my PMC efforts on volunteering. I debuted on Sunday in Wellesley in 2010, and was inspired by the opening remarks of the great Sam Zoll. Sam lost his battle with gallbladder cancer this year, as did one of my loyal PMC supporters, Heather McClure (ovarian cancer). Recently I learned of the passing of PJ Currier to brain cancer. PJ was the brother of a fellow softball player, and was only 25 years old. Others who have fought cancer are also close to my heart, especially my friends Judy Hilliard and Bob Davine, whose losses are felt every day. This year I'll be volunteering at the Wrentham water stop on Saturday, and will be looking for my riding buddies Natasha, Lynn, JB, and especially Donna Cohen - who is riding in her 20th PMC. RIDE ON!
