Joe Ferreira's Ride
Why I Ride ... to find the cure!
So, my 6th year riding in the PMC. Another year that I think I might take the year off. But Cancer does not take a year off. So, I'm in again.
Like the last 4 rides, I am riding with Team Perry, one of the largest teams in all of PMC by numbers and money raised. It is a great group of folks, all with their own personal stories. Perry was a 32 year-old super athlete and cancer cut him down. I am done hearing those types of stories.
So - I ride again. Please help me with a donation of any size. Anything will do.
This year, I am riding 85 miles to end up at Mass Maritime.
Will you consider a donation to my fundraising efforts?
The PMC is the single largest contributor to the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Cancer doesn't discriminate. It hasn't skipped over the people we care about. Cancer doesn't care how old you are! Cancer doesn't care how nice you are!
Could you consider a donation to my fundraising efforts?
As in years past, I am happy to include the name of a loved one on my back to remember the struggles they have gone through or are going through currently. I am convinced that we are making a difference. There are many people still with us because of the money that people raise in the Pan-Mass Challenge and other fundraising events to find cures to eliminate Cancer.
Don't forget to ask your company to match donations (it really makes a big difference and I get to my goal so much quicker).
Please note - The PMC is like no other fundraiser. The PMC has over 5,000 riders one again this year. The event raises more money than any other single event in the country! In total, the PMC has raised more than $303 million since its first year in 1980, when there were a total of 36 riders.
See below for instructions on how to donate:
In order to participate, I must raise at least $3,000 by August. I need your help! I hope that you will consider a donation to my fundraising campaign.
