Dear Friends, 

Well, I'm in again…  Right after the holidays, I signed up to ride in my 8^th Pan-Mass Challenge (www.pmc.org).  The PMC is the nation's largest and most successful athletic fundraiser.  Last year "we" (me, you and thousands of others), raised over 33 million dollars with 100% of the funds being donated to the Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber Cancer Institute for cancer research.  Words barely do that accomplishment justice and there's no way I could thank you enough for your help. 

Although I'll be riding with Team Phat Tuesday again, 2008 should be interesting since I now live in North Carolina.  I'll be counted as one of the riders that come from over 38 "other states" and several countries to Massachusetts each year for the event. 

I want to thank you for all your support in the past 7 years.  With your help, I have raised over $33,000 for cancer research.  My 2008 goal is to raise at least $4,000. 

As a lot of you may know, I am a very part-time athlete.  I'm much more comfortable watching the Red Sox or Patriots on TV than training for a 200-mile bike-a-thon on a hot August weekend.  Many of you also know that cancer took my father and my mother is a survivor.  I know cancer has touched almost all of you as well.  We do the best we can, but we also know that helpless feeling of watching a loved one suffer with this terrible disease.  This is the best way I've found to fight back. 

Will you help support me again this year?  The production costs of the PMC are now underwritten by several corporate sponsors including the Boston Red Sox. This means that every dollar you send gets donated to the Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
