Henry Sirakovsky's Ride

Why I Ride ...

In 2007, I was only a bystander at the finish-line of the Pan-Mass Challenge when I watched the riders of Team Luca complete their inaugural journey.  After witnessing this inspirational feat, I was honored to be asked by Jeff and Megan De Lisi to become part of this event in honor of their courageous son Luca, who, died June 29th, 2005 at the age of 3 succumbed to medulloblastoma, an aggressive form of cerebral cancer.

While in Mt. Snow, Vermont, I met Luca and his family.  My memory of the vivacious little boy happily bouncing in his jumpy seat has been ingrained in my mind forever.  Lasting thoughts of Luca will live with me as well as within all who encountered him.

I am riding in order to benefit all of the families that have been affected by the tragic grasp of Cancer.  The donations garnered will be given over to the Jimmy Fund which assists in the battle against pediatric brain cancer and the research necessary to eradicate this malady.
