Harry Carey's Ride
Why I Ride ...
Hi:
That's me between my Great Friends and Riding Partners, Sylvia Dandrata and her husband, Bob Ernst, riding through the Orleans Marsh on our way to Provincetown in 2008. It was a challenging yet fun ride. I am a Survivor. 2012 will be my Seventh PMC and this is my brief story.
CANCER CAN AND WILL BE CONQUERED.
I am extremely thankful for many things:
First, my Family. I am living proof that there is truth to the adage about "Marrying UP". if you have ever spent any time with Stephanie, Steve, Gina, Daria, Sophia, Harrison, Kim or Sean you would know what I mean. I love them so much. That's a picture of my Grandchildren: Daria, Sophia and Harrison, in the second photo.
Second, my small but sincere group of close friends, who, like Sylvia and Bob, are my adopted family. I love them for always being there and for tolerating, motivating and encouraging a quirky, "sixty-something", wanna-be athlete, cancer Survivor with an artificial right knee who refuses "to act his age" and almost never smiles! Special People!
Third, my diagnosis of prostate cancer, however life altering it was at the time, came early while I still had real choices available to me. I've been cancer-free since June 2005 and appreciative of every minute.
So here's where the rubber meets the road: Many of you know that I also teach spinning. Can you believe I actually get paid for working out? it's pretty neat when you think about it. For the second year I will contribute EVERYTHING I earn from Spinning between January 1st 2012 and July 31st, 2012 to the PMC! If YOU want to be serious about something, then join me and get serious about conquering cancer and making it history.
Thank you for taking the time to read my brief story. I would appreciate your support. WE need your support! TOGETHER, WE WILL LICK CANCER!
