Why I Ride ...

I love to ride and I'm blessed with the God given gift and ability to even participate in such an event.  This event is about giving and putting time and energy into something that makes a difference in other people's lives.  We've all been touched by someone who has fallen to cancer or become sick and is in the battle of their lives, literally!  I recently lost a good friend and parishioner, Jack Scott, who succumbed to cancer January 28, 2009, the day before I wrote this story.  There are countless numbers of co-workers and friends who have battled cancer and won (Rich, Deb, Joy) and those who are fighting hard (Janice & Robin).  There's nothing more important than to continue to raise funds for research and finding cures!  This is my first PMC and I'm excited to participate with a group of riders whom I've become close friends with and have been cycling with for three years.  I certainly cannot use age as an excuse (49) with these guys!  We will ride hard for the cause and you can too, in spirit, by contributing what ever amount possible!  There's nothing more gratifying than contributing what ever way you can, we all know the feeling of accomplishment when we give!

With great love and thanks for your gifts,

Greg Piper!
