So, why do we do this? Unfortunately, each of us has our own personal stories of loved ones affected by cancer. But, the person that unifies us all is our team namesake, Brielle. Brielle has valiantly been fighting cancer for the last 8 years. With the help of her sister Jaclyn and many others, she successfully beat Leukemia twice. Last year, on the eve of our 6th ride, we found out the cancer had returned in the form of Osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, which had also spread to her lungs.
At that point, Brielle and her family turned to the great doctors at The Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Through her passion for life and her amazing spirit, Brielle is “Not Afraid” to triumph over cancer yet again. Her and her family are an inspiration to all of us.
